GIANT KILLERS RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE ‘WHEN THIS TIME IS OVER’

Indie Pop Duo's First Release in Nearly 30 Years Out on 24th May 2024

The indie-pop scene is abuzz with the return of Giant Killers, who are set to release their new single, "When This Time is Over," on 24th May 2024 through Little Genius. This marks their first new release since their debut album *Songs For The Small Places*, recorded nearly three decades ago, finally saw the light of day in January this year. The album has been met with overwhelming acclaim, reigniting interest in the band.

"When This Time is Over" will be available digitally on all platforms, packaged as part of a unique Double A-side, Double B-side EP. Additionally, Giant Killers will donate 25% of all Bandcamp sales proceeds to the suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), aligning their music release with a meaningful cause.

Formed by Jamie Wortley (guitar, keys, lead vocals) and Michael Brown (bass, keys, brass, vocals), Giant Killers were originally signed to MCA Records in 1995. Despite releasing two singles, their album was shelved and only now, with the rights back in their hands, are the songs being shared with the world.

In another exciting development, the band has announced they will be opening the main stage at the Shiiine On Festival this November. Their storied history includes opening for Blur on the Country House tour, during which Blur recruited their original keyboard player, and touring with Dr. Robert (Blow Monkeys) and Nick Heyward. They've graced TV screens on Channel 4's *The Big Breakfast* and the Patrick Kielty TV show, and even experienced a humorous mix-up when they were mistaken for Boyzone at a Capital Radio promo event.

Throughout the years, Wortley and Brown have continued to perform, both together and in various other projects. Their impressive résumé includes performances at Glastonbury, Proms in the Park in Hyde Park opening for Lionel Richie, and supporting tours with Squeeze and Motown legend Edwin Starr. Their quirky legacy includes being featured as a sticker in *Smash Hits* magazine.

Giant Killers are making a triumphant return, promising to captivate old and new fans alike with "When This Time is Over." Don’t miss out on this long-awaited release from a band whose music continues to resonate deeply.
