The Stanford Family Band brings Sunshine to Your Playlist with "On My Holiday"

Are you ready to embark on a musical journey filled with sunshine, nostalgia, and irresistible melodies? Look no further than Brighton's own The Stanford Family Band. With their latest release, "On My Holiday", this quartet is poised to charm your ears and lift your spirits.

"On My Holiday" is the second single from their upcoming EP, "For Your Listening Pleasure". Following the success of their debut, "Love Me A Bit", The Stanford Family Band continues to capture hearts with their unique blend of vintage pop and indie garage rock vibes.

Fronted by the mesmerizing lead vocals of Elliot Stanford, the band's music transports listeners to a bygone era while maintaining a contemporary edge. Drawing inspiration from iconic acts like The Beach Boys and The Modern Lovers, they weave intricate harmonies and unforgettable melodies that resonate with audiences of all ages.

In a recent statement, Elliot Stanford shared the inspiration behind "On My Holiday": "I wrote this tune as an exercise a long time ago... I tasked myself with writing the happiest song I could. I think musically I achieved it but the lyrics are still pretty sad and lonely... Think Beach Boys circa ‘65 - Brian Wilson is writing all these amazingly upbeat songs and the words are just plain miserable and I always loved that juxtaposition."

And indeed, "On My Holiday" encapsulates this juxtaposition perfectly with its infectious energy and bittersweet lyrics.

But the excitement doesn't stop there. The Stanford Family Band will be gracing stages in London and Brighton in April, treating audiences to their electrifying live performances. From Two Palms to The Hope & Ruin, these shows are not to be missed.
